Principal Madden’s Weekly Update—Week of January 22

Principal Madden’s Weekly Update—Week of January 22

It was wonderful to have so many families and friends at our Martin Luther King Celebration last Friday! The brave leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. helped teach respect, dignity, and equality for all people. These lessons are for all times and all places. Our students did such a nice job performing!

Check out the fabulous photos of our MLK Celebration, taken by our wonderful kindergarten ESP, Val Tompkins!

The other photos this week show some of kindergarten students at the frozen vernal pool with our favorite naturalist, Mr. Ted.  The ice was beautifully clear, and the children could see underneath. What a fun outing!

The other photo shows some of our first graders sharing a class story with kindergarteners. I love how we have cross grade level sharing, buddies, and projects here at school. We have a strong school community here.

The weather has brought some snow and ice. Please make sure your child(ren) come to school prepared for outdoor fun at recess with jacket, snow pants, boots, hat, and gloves/mittens. We do have some extra snow pants and boots if needed.
