Principal Madden’s Weekly Update—Week of November 12

UNICEF Donations

Thank you for everyone who donated to UNICEF for Halloween. Our school raised $436.63, which is fabulous!

Halloween

Halloween brought to my attention the need to send a reminder to NOT send candy with your child to school. We are really working towards healthy habits, and candy is not very good brain food. Save those treats for home. Thank you!

Photos

This week’s photos show some fun photos from our Halloween Party last Friday. What a great event!

Also, some of the staff from our school attended the ribbon cutting ceremony (photo is included of our City Counselor, Marianne LaBarge and Mayor Narkewicz cutting the ribbon!) for a new trail near our school. It is a wonderful trail, and we are going to have an All-School Walk from our school to the trail on Friday morning, November 22. The trail is a new addition to the Burt’s Bog Greenway.

Other photos show our 5th grade families saying “Good-bye” on Tuesday and then “Welcome Home!” on Friday. The trip to Nature’s Classroom went very well. Hooray to our courageous students and to our wonderful teachers, Mr. Y., Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Lyons, Ms. Minton, and Mr. St. George. Their enthusiasm and patience make the trip successful and fun for all.

Other photos show artistic kindergarten students, hard-working third grade gardeners, and engaged second grade readers.
