Nancy A. Cheevers has been an educator for 32 years in the fields of reading, science, social studies, cultural literacy, and curriculum development. She earned a doctorate from the Department of Language, Literacy, and Culture in the School of Education at UMASS Amherst, and has taught students from 6th grade through graduate school. She has presented nationally with the National Council of Teachers of English, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Directors, the New England League of Middle Schools, the National Board of Certified Teachers, the National Education Foundation, and the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
Nancy enjoys collaborating with teachers to write, plan, and pilot new units, while integrating differentiated learning experiences to engage learners’ passion and creativity. She is deeply committed to integrating the arts and technology with all subject areas in supporting students to become critically literate and highly engaged citizens for the 21st century world.
